For those of you who already dive or for those who are looking to get into it, here is a list of resorts that offer some great diving for those flat days or for when you are able to drag yourself away from the waves!
Anugerah Surf and Dive Resort: Rote is considered one of Indonesia’s new frontiers in dive exploration, with a diverse array of dive sites all along the coastline, combined with a handful of offshore islands, all bursting with new spots to explore. Despite the prevailing SW swell in dry season, there is always somewhere to go within an hour’s boat ride from Nemberala. Anugerah Surf and Dive Resort offers the only dive school on the island, with a full range of dive courses, equipment and facilities, including dive boats, a training pool and PADI certified instructors. Whether you are a complete beginner or a certified diver wishing to build on your existing skill set, Rote is the ideal place to enjoy a complete ocean experience!
Hope Town Harbour Lodge: Abaco is a diver’s paradise and boasts some of the finest scuba diving in The Bahamas. There are daily dive trips (weather permitting) and private charters are also available. Smaller groups are preferred with a maximum of six divers plus a Licensed Captain and a PADI Professional Divemaster or Instructor, to make it a more personal experience. Hope Town Harbour Lodge offers packages with DiveTime.
Memmo Baleeira: The Algarve’s spectacular beauty promises great dive sites, considered some of the most magnificent on mainland Portugal. In summer, the prevailing wind is from the north, ensuring a calm sea and favourable diving conditions. Divers will be amazed by the variety of local species. Local fish such as bodiões and judias, black and white sea bream, moray eels and octopus swim in and out of the many crags and hollows that are typical of this region. There are also plenty of shipwrecks at depths of between 10-30m, with many located in fairly shallow waters and thus ideal for beginners. The temperature of the water varies between 13ºC and 22ºC. Memmo Baleeira offers packages with DiversCape.
Vanira Lodge: From Taravao to Teahupoo, and passing by Tautira, you can discover the 15 renowned diving sites and many others that are waiting to be explored. A wild and untouched peninsula, incredible fauna and flora, and whales from July to November. Vanira Lodge can help organise dive tours with Tahiti Iti Diving.
