Overlooking one of Portugal’s most stunning coastlines, Noah Surf House is a beautiful and unique haven, ideal for beach and surf getaways.
On arrival it is hard not to notice the wonderfully eclectic décor, which had all been hand chosen by its owner. Varying from converted pianos, hanging fishing nets from the local area, and surf boards adorning most walls you are immediately swept into a world dedicated to the sea. The stunning views visible from all three of their terraces provide ideal lookout opportunities for surfers wanting to check the sets coming in, or for the less active, the pool and jacuzzi allow you to admire the ocean from the comfort of your sun lounger.
The hotel operates an all-day bar and restaurant, providing local dishes as well as some of the more regular holiday snacks. The local area does not have many other good dining options, so it is also worth noting that there is also a fully equipped kitchen which all guests are welcome to use. Other amenities include the skateboard ramp on the first level, which seemed to appeal to young surfers and kids, as well as the organic vegetable garden, gym (for private training) and the surf school.
The bungalow rooms are simple yet very tasteful. They are individually dotted around the land surrounding the main hotel, with views over the ocean, private balconies, and log fires (as it can get chilly at night).
With a name dedicated to the sport, it is hardly surprising that the surf options at Noah are exceptional. Not only are the staff always on-hand to advise you on conditions, and help arrange lessons, but they also track the surf throughout the area, so are able to offer insight into the best spots, should you want to venture further than the beaches on your doorstep. The surf lessons are meticulously managed. Small classes, with qualified instructors ensure great fun to be had by all. For those who are more secure on their boards, the coast line offers breaks for all standards of surfer….so there is something for everyone.
